Our goal is to ensure that both you and your cat have a wonderful, stress-free stay with us. We’re here to answer all your questions and make sure you feel confident every step of the way. Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive:
General Questions
What makes Catopia different from other cat boarding facilities?
Catopia offers the most spacious luxury cat boarding suites in Connecticut, providing personalized care, daily updates, and a stress-free environment designed exclusively for cats.
What are your hours of operation?
Drop-off and pick-up hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
How far in advance should I book a stay?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during holidays and peak seasons, to ensure availability.
Do you offer tours of the facility?
Yes! Tours are available by appointment. Please contact us to schedule your visit.
Health & Safety
What vaccinations are required?
We require proof of up-to-date Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations. Documentation must be submitted before check-in.
Do you require flea prevention treatment?
Yes, all cats must be on a flea prevention program and flea-free upon arrival.
How do you handle medical emergencies?
In the event of an emergency, we will contact your veterinarian. If they are unavailable, we will seek veterinary care at a trusted local clinic at the owner's expense.
Will my cat be in contact with other cats?
No. Each cat (or cats from the same household) stays in a private suite to ensure a stress-free environment.
Can you administer medication?
Yes, we offer medication administration for an additional fee. Please provide detailed instructions and prescriptions at check-in.
Accommodations
What does a typical suite look like?
Our suites are spacious, multi-level rooms with cozy bedding, scratching posts, and plenty of natural light.
How often are suites cleaned?
Suites are cleaned and sanitized daily, with litter boxes scooped twice daily or as needed.
Can I bring my cat's bed, toys, or blanket?
Absolutely! Familiar items can help your cat feel more comfortable.
Do you provide food, or should I bring my own?
We recommend bringing your cat's regular food to maintain their diet. House food is available upon request.
How much playtime will my cat receive?
Every cat receives personalized attention and playtime based on their temperament and preferences.
Booking & Payment
What is your deposit and payment policy?
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due at check-in.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, and online payments.
What is your cancellation policy?
For cancellations made more than 9 days prior to the scheduled arrival date, the deposit will be retained as a credit and may be applied toward a future reservation. Cancellations made within 9 days of the scheduled arrival will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Modifications to remove nights from the beginning of a reservation must be submitted at least 9 days in advance of the scheduled arrival. Any nights removed with less than 9 days’ notice will remain chargeable in full.
Once a reservation has commenced, early departures may incur charges of up to 3 additional nights, not to exceed the originally scheduled check-out date.
Guests who fail to arrive without prior notice ("no-call/no-show") will forfeit their deposit and may be charged for up to 3 nights, not to exceed the scheduled departure date.
